Jalpaiguri District Chess Championship was held from 22nd to 23rd March in Japaiguri. A total number of 148 players participated. Shyamashree Sarkar edged out Rounak Guha Roy and Sengdup Lama on a higher tie break after all the players tied on 5 points after 6 Rounds. Rounak Malakar won the Under 13 Section while Ved Prakash Sarkar scored 6 points in 6 rounds to clinch the Under 9 Category.
